Jennifer Lynn Lopez (Noa / Judd / Anthony)

Your first thought is "Jennifer Lopez's done action / sci-fi / fantasy?"
While most of her films (including the newest one The Back-Up Plan) are, indeed, fantasies, they're romance fantasies.
But, JLo's done some true genre work (and done it well)!
And, truth to tell, I miss the sassy hot-body dancer of her In Living Color "Fly Girl" days...but even though she's hitting the Big 5-0, the lady's still HOT!

Genre appearances include...
Shades of Blue (Harlee Santos)
Lila & Eve (Eve Rafael)
Parker (Leslie Rodgers)
Enough (Slim Hiller)
The Cell (Katherine Deane)
Money Train (Grace Santiago)
U Turn (Grace McKenna)
Anaconda (Terri Flores)
Out of Sight (Karen Sisco)
Antz (Azteca)
Angel Eyes (Sharon Pogue)

Carol Diahann Johnson

We knew her as Diahann Carroll...
...and she was a pioneer for representation in media of minority women.
But she cemented her fame for genre fans with her turn as the holographic singer Mermia, one of only two good items in the ill-fated Star Wars Holiday Special!
(The other was the animated segment introducing Boba Fett!)

Gugulethu Sophia Mbatha

Does she like playing little sisters?
Gugu Mbatha-Raw first came to the attention of American genre audiences as Martha Jones' (fellow Femme Fantastique Freema Agyeman) younger sibling Tish on Doctor Who.
And, when JJ Abrams cast his series UnderCovers, Gugu auditioned for the role of Samantha Bloom's kid sister Lizzy!
Apparently, Abrams thought "Kid sister? The hell with that! She's the LEAD!"
Wise man, that JJ!
She was the best thing about the show!  ;-)
Besides doing a lot of genre tv and movies (see below), this graduate of the acclaimed Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts performed to rave reviews both on the London stage and Broadway including Cleopatra in Antony and Cleopatra, Juliet in Romeo and Juliet, and Ophelia in Hamlet (which went from the West End to Broadway)!
A Fantastic Femme to watch!

A Wrinkle in Time (Dr Kate Murry)
